A powerful read. The abuse suffered by this girl/these kids is mind-boggling and hard to read (I could only read so much at a time)....still, she is survivor, and her strength makes this compelling read well worthwhile.
Wow-I didn’t realize how long this has been sitting around the house!
This is one I brought home when I was working at Barnes & Noble. One of the perks of working there, was access to advance copies. Fortunately or unfortunately, most were not ones that appealed to me LOL as an avid bookcrosser, the last thing I needed was more books🤣🤣🤣
Having resurfaced, I offered this in the most recent round of the nonfiction VBB and I’m very happy it’s been selected. So off it goes now to the next reader who I hope will enjoy it, or at least be touched by it, as I was.

Thank you for sharing this book with me. It arrived in Florida safe and sound today.
What a horrible story of the suffering of children! It is especially horrible because it is true. I can not imagine any human treating another lke Rosie was treated. There were times when I had to stop reading as it was emotionally overwhelming.
Enjoy! KTM RABCK to MrsJones for Oh, the Places We Can Go Release Challenge 2022 - Long Island and Idaho
Received in the mail today. Thank you so much! Can’t wait to read it.
Absolutely heartbreaking and very difficult to read at times. I had such a vivid image of Cookie in my head. I've known a couple women like her, but steer clear of drunks like this as much as possible.
Reading this was very stressful at times. Then, last night after I finished the book, I started watching "MAID" on Netflix and experienced the same stress. Yikes.
Time to move on to something lighter. But I still want to read the memoir written by Rosie's sister Regina.

Adding to the True Crime bookbox. I’d say this was criminal…
I pulled this out of the US-based True Crime Book Box. It looks like a fascinating if heartbreaking read.
