This is now a bookcrossing book ☺Another worldbook night copy found in a charity shop (Keswick) and I STILL haven't read the copy on mount TBR!!! First giver was Nancy Bigmore who icked it up from Chatburn library (Clitheroe) back in 2013. Who knows where it travelled between. This is now available and as I have some bookcrossing planned this week it may well find itself travelling very soon.

Released 7 yrs ago (11/21/2016 UTC) at Trinity Leeds - CLOSED OBCZ in Leeds, West Yorkshire United Kingdom

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

Welcome to Bookcrossing!

You have found a travelling book. Why not join in the fun? Read, release and pass on but don't forget to write a Journal Entry telling us where you found the book, if you read it what you thought about it and where you are going to leave it. If you join bookcrossing before you do the entry you will get an alert when the next person writes up about it and can track its travels. If you prefer to just leave an Anonymous Journal Entry, it will brighten up my day either way. Oh and if you like the book sooooo much you just don't want to let it go that is fine too, maybe one day eh ☺

Enjoy!!

I picked this up from the BookCrossing shelves within Trinity Shopping Centre this morning during a lovely day out in not-so-sunny Leeds!
I chose it because I thoroughly enjoyed Trumpet a novel by this author so thought her autobiography would be interesting and because I try to read at least two nonfictions a month so am always on the look out for likely candidates - which this very much is ....
That it was released by my BC-friend Diane-Fraser is an unexpected bonus! Greetings and a Very Happy New Year, D-F :-)

Well, that was a pleasant surprise, a real page-turner! I started it yesterday and finished it today. I need hardly add that it so grabbed my attention, I couldn't put it down! We learn so much about Ms Kay and her family, especially her mothers and fathers, the two she grew up with in Glasgow, and the two she traced to Milton Keynes and Nigeria as an adult. Fascinating - and as beautifully written as you'd expect from a poet! I loved it! Although I wasn't so keen on the order, or disorder, of its telling. I'm old-fashioned enough to want my stories to start at the beginning and finish at the end! All this jumping around in time and place makes me dizzy ....

Released 6 yrs ago (4/25/2017 UTC) at Brigantes Bar & Brasserie OBCZ / Meetup Venue in York, North Yorkshire United Kingdom

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

I can't remember when I last attended a meeting of York BookCrossers but from time to time, when I'm in my favourite city, I like to enjoy a pub lunch at their usual venue and release books on the shelves in the hope that they might find an appreciative reader.

Well over a million people around the world give their books a unique BookCrossing IDentity number (BCID) before sending them out to find new readers. Since the start of the scheme in April 2001 nearly twelve million such books have been put into circulation. This is one of them!

Our hope is that we can track the progress of our books once they've left our hands - and that's possible if finders like you visit the website, key in the BCID and leave a comment, however long or short. It's fun, it doesn't have to cost anything, although the site always appreciates donations towards running costs, and you can remain anonymous if you wish. You don't have to join but if you do you'll be able to number and track your own books!
