Through the vibrant years of the early part of the century-from 1896 to 1919, lived the Whitmans, the Pritchards, and the Dances...the families of The Marigold Field...whose lives where destined to be intertwined.
Jonothan Whitman- a man obsessed by a private dream- married, had children, wnet to war- and never lost sight of his secret vision. Myra, his cousin was almost too beautiful to be poor and survive. There were the Dances who caroused their way through the Edwardian era with gusto and genorosity.
And dominating the entire scene of The Marigold Field was Anne-Louise Pritchard, self-willed, capricious and spoilt, whose life was absorbed in the pursuit of her own desires.
I read this in 1981! Seems like a long time ago and don't remember much about it though I do remember enjoying it.
