Journal Entry 1 by Derwoodsman from Urbana, Maryland USA on Tuesday, November 15, 2016
Here's an unauthorized history, circa 1997, of the Augusta National Golf Club and the Masters Golf Tournament. It digs into the dirt of the authoritarian leadership of Augusta National, the racist policies of the club, and the contentious relationship between the Club and the town of Augusta, Georgia. While the author dares to expose the dark underside of the Club and the tournament, he still ignores the blatant exercise of white privilege that infuses the club, the Masters tournament, and much of the community.
I picked up this used copy at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Rockville's Fall Bazaar.
