I got this little hardcover from Better World Books. The cartoons, mostly centering on Fred, his wife, their cat Anthony, and occasionally some of their friends, range from Gary Larsen-esque surreal to goofy-household-relationship. There's "Fred had high hopes for Anthony", showing him trying to get the cat to jump through a flaming hoop - with the cat, sensibly, showing no interest. Then "There was always a small prayer before the opening of the bank statement," something with which I can empathize! There's a slightly-racy one in which "It was so long since Fred had seen it that Penelope very kindly agreed to describe it to him" - with the illustration making it clear that "it" is Fred's genitalia, hidden from his gaze by his protruding tummy. (Anthony is sitting beside Penelope on the bathroom floor, both of them gazing up at Fred's "it".) And there's a comic about one of Fred's failed businesses, this one an "All Night Shoe Laces" emporium - buy one, get one free, eh? {grin}

I left this book in the reading rack on the back wall of Christopher's at around 1:30; hope the finder enjoys it!
