A poor boy of unknown origins is rescued from poverty and taken in by the Earnshaw family where he develops an intense relationship with his young foster sister, Cathy.
Wuthering Heights is Emily Brontë's only novel. Written between October 1845 and June 1846, Wuthering Heights was published in 1847 under the pseudonym Ellis Bell; Brontë died the following year, aged 30.
Although Wuthering Heights is now widely regarded as a classic of English literature, contemporary reviews for the novel were deeply polarised; it was considered controversial because its depiction of mental and physical cruelty was unusually stark, and it challenged strict Victorian ideals of the day regarding religious hypocrisy, morality, social classes and gender inequality.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
☺ Happy Traveling, Book! ☺ Being sent to a friend and her daughter in Arkansas. I have a feeling they might enjoy this!
My good friend, Justina, gave me this beautiful copy of Wuthering Heights.
I am excited to read it, for I have never read this story before!
I am excited to read it, for I have never read this story before!
I had barely started this book, before I started watching a movie version of it to get a better idea of the story.
I'm not a big fan of Wuthering Heights, as I don't enjoy the negativity and the idea of death in the story.
But, I will say that I did enjoy two characters from the book, at least.
Edgar Linton and Nelly. Both brought a little light into the story.
It is a well written piece of literature, but I don't think that I'll read it again.

Releasing book into the wild.
MrsTilney has such a kind heart and a rose-colored-glasses view of the world. I have to say I'm happy she's not as world-hardened as me and couldn't relate to the pain and loss in this story. I'll keep it in my collection as I love the illustrations. Sad as it is, this is one of my favorite stories.
