For all that this is supposed to be an "inspired" romance, I found that God wasn't really a part of their lives...more of an after thought. Neither character prays for God to help them with their problems. When Lucy refuses to marry without the Mom's approval, it isn't because she is obeying the commandment to honor your parents and it is more out of fear that the Mom will make their lives miserable without the approval. Lucy attends church, but it seems she totally lacks a connection/relationship with God. So, I found that aspect of the book disappointing.

I left the book in the ladies' restroom on the sink counter.
