This is not an ordinary book: it's a BookCrossing book! BookCrossing books are world travelers - they like to have adventures and make new friends...and every once in a while they even write home to say what they've been doing.

My friend Purple58 would have been the first to admit that she wasn't a very "good" BookCrosser: she would always bring books to our meetings that hadn't been journaled, or even registered. But they'd been read, and she usually had an opinion about them. Those of us in our TOC group were more interested in the company (and the food) than whether or not all the books on the table were "official" anyway...and Holly was always good company.

She was a strong-minded, independent woman, with a generous soul, a great sense of humor, and a limited tolerance for idiots. She was always open to new experiences. She knew what she believed in and was willing to fight for it if necessary.

She won't be coming to our meetings any more, and they won't be the same without her, but I'll try to imagine that she's off in Las Vegas having a fabulous time...and eating dessert if she wants to.

Since she was wholeheartedly a cat person, this book with a feline title will be released in her memory...but I might read it first.

I'm not really into cats (allergies, for one thing), but this book is also about dementia, and how family members cope with the progression of the disease. It was both interesting and moving.

I'll count this book as my 2016 Rhode Island read for NancyNova's 2015-2016 50 States reading challenge.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

Monday, December 5, 2016: left on one of the free literature boxes at the corner.

Released in memory of my friend purple58, whose birthday was yesterday. I know she never would have wanted to live in a place like Steere House (does anyone?) but she would have definitely appreciated that it had cats. (Larger photo here - after following link, click on image to zoom.)

Wild released for DragonGoddess's What's in a Name challenge, my D for December challenge, and AlterEgoZoe's Leap into the Wild Challenge.

I'm so glad you've found this book!

Please take a moment to make a journal entry and let the book's previous readers know that it's safe with you.

How and where did you find the book? What did you think of it? What are you going to do with it next?

It's now your book, for you to do with as you please: keep it, pass it to a friend, or maybe even leave it where someone else can find it!

If you've ever wondered where your books go after they leave your hands, join BookCrossing and you may find out: you'll be able to follow the further adventures of your books as new readers make journal entries - sometimes from surprisingly far-flung locations.

(Think of it like Where's George for books: a little like geocaching or a treasure hunt - you can follow a registered book's journey every time someone makes a new entry. Some BookCrossers even leave books *in* geocaches!)

BookCrossing: making the whole world a library!
