I got this slightly-battered softcover from a local Salvation Army thrift shop. It's about the tragic and infamous fire at the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory in 1911. I've read other works, historical as well as fictional, based on the tragedy, including Leon Stein's The Triangle Fire (cited by the author of this book as a primary source); will see how this one compares.
Later: A good depiction of the events leading up to the tragedy, including a number of social and political issues of the day that had an effect - the women's involvement in the dawning labor movement, among them. The personal tragedies are highlighted, as are the painful-to-read injustices in the court system.
One part of this book that was new: the author made a painstaking search for information on the victims, and compiled what may be the most complete list to date. He includes his sources, always appreciated in this kind of writing.
But it's the personal tales that affect me most when I read about this - the individuals who survived while their nearest friends and family did not, the massive impact on the local community...

I left this book on a bench in the Milford Oval (for that "triangle in the oval" geometric touch) at around 2:45 on this lovely afternoon; hope the finder enjoys it!
