The second in the Death series:

The first victin was found lying on a sidewalk in the rain. The second was murdered in her ouw apartment building. Police Lieutenant Eve Dallas had no problem finding connections between the two crimes. Both victins were beautiful and highly successful women. Their glamorous lives and loves were the talk of the city. And their intimate relations with men of great power and wealth provided Eve witha long list of suspects including her own lover, Roarke. As a woman, Eve was compelled to trust the man who shared her bed. But as a cop, it was her job to follow every lead... to investigate every scandalous rumor..l. to explore svery screct passion, no matter how dark. Or how dangerous...

Loved this one as much as the first will be looking for the rest of the series.

Thank you for sharing this with me - I've discovered I have another copy of this title, so I am passing this on to narfinmagic as a RABCK.

However, regarding our "deal" to swap the other J.D. Robb books, I have the following here or on their way to me:

Betrayal
Judgement
Loyalty
Rapture
Purity

Also, I have Immortal in Death here as well, so as soon as I read this one, I'll be reading that one and sending it on to you! Unless you come across it beforehand, in that case, let me know and I'll just wild release it.

Thank you for sharing again!!

This book has not been rated.

I finished this one this morning, after starting it during halftime during the Xavier-Lousiville game last night (Go X!) and while it was an enjoyable, fast read, I thought it was quite predictable as I zeroed in on the killer very early on. Nonetheless, I will continue to read the rest of the "In Death" series...

Thank you again LadyTonia for sharing. I'm passing this on to a fellow BXer locally at our next meet-up. Now I'm off to read "Immortal in Death" and will send it on to you shortly.

I've been reading the In Death series (in random order) and have enjoyed each one. This one was really good and I found the end to be a surprise. Unlike MarciNYC, I did not zero in on the killer and enjoyed how this story wrapped up. I will be reading others from this series in the future.

Released on Saturday, July 03, 2004 at MarciNYC's M-Bag to Australia in n/a, n/a Controlled Releases.

This one boomeranged itself back to me, so into the Aussie M-Bag it goes! Mmm - Aussie, boomerang. Interesting choice of words.

This book has made its way to Adelaide, the capital of South Australia. hello to you all. Think South Australia, think: beaches, food, wine, cars, golf, sport, newk and grooble.
I took some of the M bag books to recent meet up. As pictured. I think we were all drowning in books so many are still with me.
Hence I am unsure where to place this book and may send it off in a baby M bag. (and marci just possibly an allocated book or two got picked up. The "takers" promised to pass them on if the book was found to named for someone else)

I'm not really a fan of this genre but know many who are so I am sure this will get snapped up at the Meet-up I am going to in a week's time. :)

Well, I took this along to the last mini-meet up we had and no one there was a fan of this genre. In the meantime, NeedSun Pmmed me asking for a trade for this book.
Since noone claimed it at the meet up, I have sent it on to her in Canada as an ABCK.
Enjoy. :)

This one was as fast and entertaining to read as the first one. I, too, zeroed in on the killer early on and cringed as Eve kept missing the clues. I plan on starting the next in the series right now. Thanks to libertine101 for sending this my way, at my request. And thank you to MarciNYC for the next one, Immortal in Death.

There are a couple of bookcrossers who I know would like this series. I am going to try to get my hands on the first one again and send the first two out.

Excellent book. Continues love story from book one with a new murder mystery. Continues to sustain interest. Needs to be read in order to make sense at this point. I enjoyed enough to follow up with the next one at some point. Hero is the man every woman secretly dreams of.

I am going to start a book spiral for the first four books in this series. Probably as I get more of the books, I'll continue with the same participants if they are still interested.

I very much enjoyed this book. Suspense, mystery, murder, mayhem and a little romance. What more could I ask for?
I'm very much looking forward to the next book in the series and I hope we learn more about Eve's past.

Will pass on to adeps soon.

4 out of 10

With this book I did two things that I never do with books. Ever.
I fell asleep while reading. I mean, come on, that's just something you say you do, to show how boring something is, but never actually do. But now I did...
And I skimmed it. I always have to read every word in a book, in the right order. If I miss a single word and continue anyway, I can't get it out of my head until I've reread the page and everything is back in proper order again.
But with this, oh, how I could skim...

I found it boring, and predictable, and just a repeating of the previous book. I can't believe there are, like, thirty more in this series :P

I won't be up for the sequels in this series. Please remove me from the list. Thanks for sharing, though!
