Journal Entry 2 by mrsjones from Hamilton, Ohio USA on Tuesday, March 09, 2004
I had to go to the Post office today, and since I saw the Release alert yesterday for Mason Post Office, I thought I'd go there. I looked around, but didn't see the book, so I asked the Postal Clerk whether a book had been turned in to Lost & Found. He looked at me with surprise and said yes, that he'd found a book. He asked me what it looked like. "It's a paperback and the title has something about the Lord. I can't remember the exact title." He looked at me funny and nodded. "When did you lose it?" "Yesterday." He nodded again. I was starting to sweat. All business had halted and all eyes were on me. "I found it, but it had a sticker on the front of it," he said with his arms crossed over his chest. "Yes!" I said, "It said that it's a free book, not lost, yada, yada.." I smiled. "Mind telling me what that's all about?" The interrogation continued as two clerks tried to find the book that I described in lost and found. Finally someone held up a black hardback with a yellow post-it on the front. "That's it!" I exclaimed, though it did not match my description at all. I grabbed it and thanked them and ran out the door before I found my picture on a Wanted Poster for failing my interrogation. What's even more funny is - not only didn't my description match, but the title of this book is The Children of Men, not the book that you posted you left at the post office at all!!!! :) Thanks for the adventure! I had fun!
