Mr and Mrs Disraeli: A Strange Romance
2 journalers for this copy...
Prior to reading this I knew that Disraeli had been devoted to his wife Mary Anne and was deeply grief-stricken by her death, but had no idea quite what a long and winding story there was behind the marriage.
This book takes the reader through that journey - step by painstaking step. To be honest, I felt it was too detailed to retain my complete interest, but the story that gradually emerged was very interesting. It was certainly not a conventional love story!

Picked up at last night's meetup, excited that it's one that I read a review of and had put on my personal wishlist. Disraeli was always a favourite of mine when I studied history, so it will be interesting to put some more detail to his personal rather than political life.
Thank you!
