After decades of service and years of watching her family's troubles splashed across the tabloids, Britain's Queen is beginning to feel her age. An unexpected opportunity offers her relief: an impromptu visit to a place that holds happy memories—the former royal yacht, Britannia, now moored near Edinburgh. Hidden beneath a skull-emblazoned hoodie, the limber Elizabeth (thank goodness for yoga) walks out of Buckingham Palace and heads for King's Cross to catch a train to Scotland. But a colorful cast of royal attendants has discovered her missing. In uneasy alliance a lady-in-waiting, a butler, an equerry, a girl from the stables, a dresser, and a clerk from the shop that supplies Her Majesty's cheese set out to bring her back before her absence becomes a national scandal.

I bought this book because I have a fondness for unusual titles :-)
And I wasn't disappointed!
I liked the idea of The Queen getting tired of the royal business and trying to escape for a little - to the place where she'd been happy.
The characters were also very likable - can't decide whom I liked best?! Luke and William? Shirley and Anne?
Her Majesty herself? (if I dare ;-))
The only thing I found a bit confusing sometimes were the different time lines which changed to and fro. One had mentally to get back to where it ended some chapters before to continue the story.
But that was ok, I got used to it.

"Mrs. Queen" has arrived in "The Great White North" (LOL, it's been 80+F here). The book reviews inside the cover are all glowing. 'Looks like such a fun book. As mentioned, my Mom - Bucklesbook - wants to read it also, so you can add her name to the list if you like, but no need to add an address. It "flew" across the ocean pretty fast! (Did you use "Royal" mail?) PS: Thanks for the lovely photo.

I've PM'd Billbooks for an address....as "Mrs. Queen" is ready to hit the road. Fun book. The author really captured the Queen's personality, her situation well.

Book has arrived in Australia in time for a Christmas read which is going to be a warm one this year mid 30's centrigrade. I think that's high 80's in Fahrenheit

I really enjoyed this book well written with a tongue in check approach that was both amusing human. I would like to think that the Queen would give it her thumbs up. What can I say it melted the heart of this ardent republican

I had a great time when reading this adventure.
For me the real Queen's life is miserable. Never alone, never doing her own things, never sharing her own feelings, standing straight on her poor feet at her age...

This has arrived safely in the Swiss Alps. I'm on sick leave so should be able to read this quickly. Hopefully once read, I'll be able to send it on its way swiftly as well.

For some reason before beginning I assumed this was a sort of fictional Queen, but this ma'am does have a strikingly similar biography to the other Ma'am. Unlike some other readers, I found the beginning a bit slow, but gradually warmed up to all the characters. It was an entertaining read and provided an interesting (albeit fictional) glimpse into this oh-so British institution which is its Royal Family. Thanks so much for making this available. I've written for the next address.

The book arrived today (it must have come by train, then...). Thanks for sending it!

I really enjoyed this book and I very much liked to watch the characters gradually change their opinions about each other, and how this finds its expression in the way they speak to one another.
Many thanks for offering this ring!
As Dschinny is on vacation right now, the book will travel to her later this week.

Arrived today, thank you! Might have to wait a while until I finish my current (fairly thick) read.

Journal Entry 17 by wingdschinnywing at Hamburg - City, Hamburg Germany on Thursday, June 22, 2017
An enjoyable read even though I expected something slightly different; more focus on The Queen instead of the other characters. But even though it is a fictional story I can imagine that some of The Queen's sentiments are not that far from the truth ;-)

Will contact kiki66 for address to send the book home.

4.7.17: The Queen will travel home by post.

The Queen has arrived at home again!
After visiting quite some parts of her monarchy she decided to stay now in Bavaria.. at least a former kingdom ;-)
Thanks to all for handling her with such care!
