A group of Indian illegal immigrants are thrown together in a house in Sheffield. The narrative goes back into the stories of Randeep, a rich boy whose father loses his job, Avtar, desperate to pay off debts and return to the girl he loves, Tochi, whose life has been destroyed because of his low caste, and Narinder, who sacrifices her own future in her determination to help others. Perhaps because they are so desperate, they betray each other and none of them is likeable. Worth reading but it doesn't hold out any hope for the future of the UK or India.

The book arrived yesterday, to cheer me up on a rather bleak day. My sowing machine decided to die, therefore I have some halfmade purple trousers.... Question is; do I throw them away, finish the sowing by hand (No Way) or buy a new sowing machine????

I could go for the other option; read a book & drink tea!

I found the story both interesting, the different desitinies, and difficult to follow as I kept liding up the characters and there doings. The life of an illegal in a Western country is something we dont hear about often, very interesting.

I have a cool release spot singled out. I hope I manage to pull it off.

This book has been across a glacier to get to the tallest mountain in Norway. It is in the smell, and very expensive kafe!
At 2469 m, I hope someone will pick it up!
