A page turner; all except the first chapter. That chapter of techno garble almost had me stop reading the book, but I ploughed on, hoping it improved, and it did big time. A great story. I would have scored the story higher, if not for the boredom of the first chapter.
Clever idea that there had been many inventors of fusion, because when someone perfected fusion they were locked away and so no-one heard of it and so someone else invented it, then they were locked away and so on.
Interesting exchanges between Varuna the AI, and Alexa. Varuna wants to help but is also forced to try to kill them. "We can speak - but I also need to try to kill you."
"I've always been your friend, Alexa. Now go. I will try to kill you as unsuccessfully as I can."
One negative for me was too much action.
