Agatha Raisin has just about had it - James has abandoned her, the new neighbour has made an unseemly proposition, and the new curate seems to be taking a more than normal interest in her. Now he is dead.
I found this book in a village phone box; along with a Defibrillator. Somewhere in Cambridgeshire (or nearby), UK.

A heartbreaker and a heartstarter. Never let it be said that the Poms have no sense of humour!
Rescued from a lake of cider at King O'Malleys.
Who knows where this is headed?

The book is now on the other side of the world, in Delphi, Greece.
I've never read anything by M.C. Beaton who seems to be a popular author in Book Crossing, so it's not only the curate who's curious here!
Thank you goldenwattle for registering and skyring for delivering in person : )

I was curious to try a new-to-me author, but as some of the characters exclaim...Oh, dear!
Yes, I get it. People often need an easy, light read, something to relax. I understand the appeal of pulp fiction or cozy mystery series, but...
Does this genre equals with absolutely ridiculous plots that don't make sense and with surreal, carton-box characters? I'm not a great fan of this genre, but certainly I've read some books of its kind and those were written with dignity, featuring some decent plots, occasionally presenting characters on the comic and/or flawed side, but still somehow convincing.
This book was simply superficial without any believable element or any character to root for. Not one single character seems to behave like a real person and most of them appear to be not only two-dimensional, but eejits too!
I don't get the popularity of this author, but then there seem to be about 30 books in the series starring Agatha Raisin with the bearlike eyes, so maybe it's me...
Different folks, different strokes!
I hope future readers will enjoy this much more than me!

Yeah, that was very nice again. Agatha solving a crime again against the strict orders of the police. And of course there is always a gentleman involved...
