Thank you very much for sending this. Anything to do with growing up Italian/Italy is very interesting to me right now. I'm looking forward to reading this and sharing with my best bookcrossing buds :)

I enjoyed this story of two Italian-American girls - in the end..but it was tough getting there. Their life was depressing and they felt they were unloved by their parents, but there were some funny moments and moments that took me back to my own childhood.

Thanks so much for sharing this with me, jig.

I was the lucky one ... will get to this someday. Been reading lots of Italian themed books lately.

p.s. "The Villa of Lee" - very funny, Pooh!

Journal Entry 9 by Leester from Toronto, Ontario Canada on Sunday, August 22, 2004
I also could not keep interested enough to keep reading it. I gave up at about page 20, which I know is too early to give a book a fair chance. But ... I have been reading lots of Italian-themed books lately, a few of which I LOVED, and I knew from the beginning I was not going to LOVE this one. It's tough love on the books I choose to read these days!!!!

Will pass along to Penhaligon to give it a go.

This book was quite bleh for me. I never really cared much for the characters. The story jumps around in time quite a bit. Sometimes I found this interesting and other times I found it annoying. Overall I was underwhelmed by this book. I finished it a couple days ago and can hardly remember it.

I'm passing this one on to Lauraloo29. I hope you enjoy it more than I did!

Well, I finished reading it a few days ago. I enjoyed it. I certainly felt sorry for the two sisters. What a dreary, regimented household they grew up in. I would have hated to have parents like that! The book appears to have some water damage which has wrinkled the first few pages, but it doesn't spoil it too much. It was like that when it arrived! The rest of the book is in perfect condition. Will be passing this book on to chamonix44 in Almelo.

Thanks go to KJSkye for this book. I read it in one day. Enjoyed most of it. I didn't like the mother of these two sisters!
It was worth reading.
