The Alchemist
2 journalers for this copy...
A book that I recently acquired for the purposes of giving it away.
I read a comment recently that compared this book to The Little Prince and I think that is likely a fair comparison. I also think it is possible I will enjoy this book more every time I reread it -- and I do plan to reread it. The point of the book is the importance of finding your own raison d'etre and not getting sidetracked by life, along with how hard it is to know or find out your raison d'etre, how easy it is to be steered astray, and how few people truly find their ultimate true destiny. There was a little voice in my head that kept observing that most of the wise pronouncements in this book were from the Bible (where your treasure is, that is where your heart will be), but I realized that part of the point of the book was to illustrate how those ideas can work in real life applications. I have several other books on my shelf by this author waiting to be read and I am now much more interested in reading them than I was when I picked them up casually somewhere. I will also send a copy of this to my mother to read and share this copy with friends.

This book is going to meet-up with me and hopefully going home with someone else.
