Philip K. Dick's acclaimed cult novel gives us a horrifying glimpse of an alternative world - one where the Allies have lost the Second World War. In this nightmare dystopia the Nazis have taken over New York, the Japanese control California and the African continent is virtually wiped out. In a neutral buffer zone in America that divides the world's new rival superpowers, lives the author of an underground bestseller. His book offers a new vision of reality - an alternative theory of world history in which the Axis powers were defeated - giving hope to the disenchanted. Does 'reality' lie with him, or is his world just one among many others?

This book arrived yesterday. I arrived home late in the evening from a day away out in the countryside, geocaching, and opened my letterbox to discover a small package. I knew it was coming, but it was still a nice surprise to see a wishlist book waiting for me. Thank you keeta1 for posting it to me and Abi-Gibby for originally posting it. The book is in great condition; new looking even.
I look forward to reading it.
Thank you :).

I enjoy a good alternative history, but this version is a strange story. Yarrow stick throwing, consulting the oracle by many of its characters. Would so many of them be so (there is a word, but I can't think of it), so I will say 'fluffy headed'.
Sections of the speech by the characters is stilted. I think it is a strange idea of trying to indicate Japanese influence this way. Lost on me.
This book has travelled far, so I might take it to the Oslo BC Convention to keep it travelling.
Thank you for the opportunity to read this.
