Well this wasn't what I though it would be, a female teacher having an affair with one of her male students, and yet it wasn't so much about that and more about the narrators friendship with her colleague. I expected to be shocked at the affair between Sheba and Steven and yet the more I read of Barbara's telling of the story, the more I realised she was becoming very manipulative and almost stalkerish if Sheba. By the end it has you questioning who the victim is. I hear there is a film, so may. need to check it out.
