Haven't read this yet, but I seem to have more than one copy so thought I'd register this one and release it.

I picked this up at the 2nd Hampshire (UK) meet-up, in Winchester - thank you mrsbridgewater. It is apparently written from an orthodox religious viewpoint by a vicar - sounds interesting!

I've just realised I've had this over 3 years - sorry MrsB! I have finally read it though, and plan to release this weekend.

I found this to be very much a children's book (not that I have any problem with reading children's books - I frequently read MoonStrider's and dragonwolf's books!) but it was rather predictable, and the religious element came across to me as rather laboured preaching.

I wouldn't buy any more books by this author, but if one happened to be lying around, I would probably pick it up and have a look.

I have heard - but I don't know if it's true - that this was written to contrast with the 'unChristian' world of Harry Potter. I applaud the author for having the confidence to write and self-publish, I'm pleased it's worked out for him, there's nothing wrong with the book, but it's not for me (although I am pleased I've read it so that I now have my own opinion.) In my personal view, goodness and evil come across far more palatably in the Harry Potter books, and J. K. Rowling's writing style is not so obviously aimed at children.

OK, whoever finds this - feel free to contradict me!

Release plans delayed - the book has just been hi-jacked by MoonStrider! I'll be really interested to hear her take on it. Either she or I will journal later.
