this is a very well written and quite delightful story!! Starts in Paris with Jean Perdu selling books off a barge on the Seine, not yet got over his Love that seemingly deserted him 20 years previously. Finally he reads his "Dear Jean" letter only to find that she had been diagnosed with cancer and had returned to her husband in the south of France. Only then does he decide to sail through the canals to the Provence area to discover that grief, then also life and love continue.....

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Mailed to a fellow bookcrosser for my 10th bookiversary sweeps. Hope you enjoy!
That was quite quick! This book looks like such a good read! I'm excited! Thanks Andrea99 and congrats on 10 years bookcrossing!
I am not quite sure what to say about this novel. There were so many things I liked about it. So much lovely language. So many nice ideas. Such a fun, quirky group! (A rag-tag group of misfits on a bookstore barge book apothecary!)
But, in the end, the plot was disjointed, the characters didn't feel quite real enough and, to be honest, I just didn't love the end.
Still might be a fun read for lovers of books. I did like the idea of a book apothecary! A book for every ill!
