We have stepped in the sticky quagmire of another trade! ;)
I haven't read this series yet. So I can't say much of anything about it. I think I've started collecting volumes, but on the older series, it can take quite a lot of effort to find them all. So I obviously haven't gotten that far.
I guess you'll be the first of us to have an opinion. :)

The trade box-o-books arrived safely on this very warm day - many thanks! I was drawn to the cover-art on this one - will see if the story lives up to it!
Later: Very pretty artwork, which doesn't hurt - and some amusing lines, as with the opening sequence that includes the rallying cry "Is there any man here who wishes to become vulture shite??"
Battles, vengeance, a prince who wants to renounce the throne, and a quest that brings that young prince and his trusted bodyguard in contact with an entertaining assortment of characters. Not deep characters, necessarily, but pretty, and sometimes amusing, with lots of bickering in between the plot-exposition segments. There's a character who looks like an overt nod to Vampire Hunter D, and an assortment of ancient beasts who are involved in the quest. There's a tantalizing conclusion too...
