This book focuses on the cultural of Islamic/muslim women in different countries. It's a little bit dated as it's focus is during and then after the Gulf War of the early 1990's and doesn't address 9/11/01, the U.S. Invasions of Afghanistan, and Iraq, and the War on Terror. There is also a very good break down of the Sunni and Shite split in early part of the book.
