The Ice Twins
3 journalers for this copy...
Picked up in a charity shop as it looks like a good read. A tale of two parents coping with the aftermath of the death of one of their identical twin daughters.
I found this disappointing. I think it was because I didn't really like either of the parents in this book. I also found the reaction of the children in the village school to Lydia/Kirstie a bit over the top and found it hard to believe the school staff would let the situation escalate like that.
And off it goes to Daffodil-2. Happy reading!
Received in the post today from Bookfrogster as a RABCK. Thanks very much. Will be reading it during July as I can fit it into this month's What to Read theme -see in the Forum under Book Talk. I'm actually "in charge" of the theme this month while Plum-Crazy is away and had already chosen a theme into which this will fit-great! Do come and join us-it's fun!
REVIEW:- "I had mixed feelings about this book for while I found it to be a page-turner I also saw some holes in the plot. e.g. Why would someone wait 14 months before protesting about being called by the wrong name? At times I wanted to report Sarah to the NSPCC as I felt there was more to her than meets the eye. She made some very poor choices regarding the safety of her remaining child and often left her alone when I believe most parents in these circumstances would watch her like a hawk. The dodgy phone line to the cottage worked perfectly when necessary to the plot. Also I can't imagine anyone putting themselves through a second unnecessary funeral.
Having said all of the above I did enjoy reading the book with all its spookiness and twists and turns but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone of a nervous dispotision."
I am reserving this for Snoopy56 until next time we meet.

When re-releasing this book please be aware that airports are not a good place to leave books unless they have a specific book exchange shelf or area, due to security problems, so they may well just be disposed of. Also charity shops may well discard books that have been labelled in any way and they mostly chose only the books in the very best condition
to place on their shelves and discard the rest-so another bad release option.

I started this book fairly soon after receiving it from Daffodil-2 and I'm nearly halfway through. I am finding it quite compelling and can't work out where the story is going.

I didn't anticipate how this would end. It was quite confusing with a lot of tooing and froing and the reader not knowing who to believe but I enjoyed it a lot. I have lent it to a friend who is currently recuperating from an operation.
