A really thorough research into the Andrea Gail ship. Its history, the society in which it thrived, its crew, the village from where it departed, the economy of the fishing industry, the geology and meteorology of the area... And this is before Hurricane Grace hits the ocean.
The real story is so moving, but I do believe that this story would have benefited from becoming a novel.
