Jaycee Dugard shares the horrific tale of being kidnapped as an 11 year old girl in South Lake Tahoe and suffering 18 years of being held as a prisoner and sexually abused by her captor in Antioch. I can't imagine the strength she had to survive such a terrible ordeal for so long. The book ends with her in therapy after being found in 2009 (thanks to a UC Berkeley employee alerting the authorities). I hope she is thriving wherever she is now!
