A very commendable and recommendable book. It made me laugh so much... and there are not a lot of books that make me actually laugh.

A man finds himself in the tube and realises he doesn't know where he is going or why. He has also forgotten his own name. He reaches the last station of the line - Heathrow airport - and tries to communicate with people. He is admitted into hospital and spends there a week without nobody claiming him. He becomes kind of a friend of another patient at the hospital, who tries to help him out with ideas about how to get in touch with somebody.

Finally, a friend of his - his best friend - contacts him. He calls him Vaughan, but this man isn't even sure if this is a name or surname. This friend accepts taking Vaughan home with him so that he can become an outpatient of the psychiatric unit. This friend will also give him the bomb news: he is about to get divorced in two days.
