I hadn't read this since it first came out.

Anyway, with 40 years experience I guess I can understand why this book was so important. Back then, Buddhism, or any other religion/philosophy was so counter-culture that it was to be avoided at all costs. But what harm could a book on Seagulls be? Especially with lots and lots of pictures? And so the concept of a Bodhisatva trickled into American consciousness. Nice book.

Fly far little book!
