This book was interesting.. Definitely not what I was expecting, but it was interesting. It was less about actual train journeys but more of a history of the British rail system. It did include some train journeys but I wish there would have been more about those actual journeys. Will be moving it on soon to someone that I hope will love this book.

ooh yes! I know I will love this one. The British railway system has a whole unspoken code of manners and mannerisms...one I'm still pretty rusty at acclimating to. Still, it's such a lovely thought to be able to travel all over the country via train. I know a couple in London who are in their 70s and have done without a car nearly their whole lives. What a fun way to travel the country!

I was a British history major at Michigan State University and am particularly interested in social history. I'm not sure I will part with this book but do have some duplicates I will consider.
