I really liked this biographic. It is not the typical biography of somebody who has done something special: her circumstances made her, shaped them not only physically.

Kim Phuc had a difficult life. In a way, what happened to her ended her childhood and changed her life forever, sometimes for good, sometimes for bad. It put a lot of pressure on her as a propaganda tool for the communist party in Vietnam, but it also opened the doors for her to study Pharmacy in Cuba, which would lead to her defection to Canada in the end. She would have never had the education opportunities or the possibility of meeting her future husband without that terrible even and photograph.

Now, having said that, the edition of this book is terrible. You can't even see the photographs in the middle - they look like a child's doodles.

Because of the typeset they used the book looks more typed than published. There were sentences that have faded away, not a lot, but I had to skip them.
