WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Happy reading!
My three-year-old grandson chose this book from the Little Free Library of Twinbrook (#7720). I think he chose it because of the two astronauts pictured on the front cover. He's into all things "outer space" now. I'll see if I can get him interested in listening to the story itself. Right now, he's mostly interested in the pictures.
I am having so much fun finally reading a "chapter book" to him. We have now read together through the end of Chapter 4.
What was most fun today, however, was that when we finished chapter 3 (where Jack and Annie put on their space suits and helmets), my grandson's dad (my younger son) brought a new space helmet for my grandson. He loved it!
I like that there are at least a few pictures in this book, but I do love the chance to finally be able to "tell" a story rather than "show" my grandson a story. I totally used to love reading "chapter books" to my own three children when they were young.
I think I'm going to look for more Magic Tree House books although the space theme is one that is especially well suited (no pun intended) to my grandson. Ha!
Note: I used to have so many donated Magic Tree House books, but I've given just about all of them away. Who knew?! :)

This was a fun book to read to my three-year-old grandson. It was the first chapter book that he let me read to him. I gave him advance warning that the book is mostly words and very few pictures. I also told him that I would only read one chapter to him at a time.
He chose this book because he is interested in all things outer space and loved the cover illustration. He sat quietly and listened carefully to each chapter. After reading it to him, he said he wanted to keep this book. However, he does not want me to read him any chapter books about subjects which don't interest him. He has become quite the discriminating young reader.
With this book, I have developed an appreciation for the Magic Tree House Books and will look for others which have interesting themes.
