PIcked up at the meetup. I know this got mixed reviews, but keen to read it anyway.
I loved this book! It's completely different to Harry Potter, but very very good. My only niggle is the ending, which I found very affecting at the time, but now I wonder if it was also the most expedient in terms of 'closure', and at the expense of the most vulnerable characters in the book (I realise these are not real people... :) Still, overall, it was gritty and insightful.

Thank you! I listened to about 1/2 the audiobook of this but didn't get deeply into it. I'm keen to give it a real read!
