I just got done with this book and there were times I was laughing out loud, causing the Husband to look over at me oddly. It was very entertaining and I loved the ending.

Hardback book with dust cover in good condition - Large Print Edition. From the dust jacket:

"Ever get so fed up with the holidays that you'd like to skip the whole thing? Luther and Nora Krank are about to boycott Christmas--and it's going to be a holiday they'll never forget. With their daughter, Blair, off to Peru to serve in the Peace Corps, the Kranks are trading the hassles of Christmas for a holiday cruise in the Caribbean. No gifts. No tree. No cards. No lights. No fruitcake. Just sunbathing, snorkeling and eight meals a day...they're shocked to find their neighbors are appalled. How dare they cancel their annual party...and refuse to buy a tree from the boy scouts...and ruin the neighborhood's chance to win the decorating award! Although the hostility is troubling, the Kranks stand strong. Until they get a phone call from Blair, who wants to bring home her new Peruvian fiance for an old fashioned Christmas. What the Kranks will have to do to create a festive holiday on a few hours notice will make your sides ache from laughing and banish any wild ideas you've ever had about skipping Christmas."

My review: This is the second book in row I read by John Grisham which wasn't a thriller. It's a quick (only 230 pages in large print), funny read that was made into a movie released in 2004 called Christmas with the Kranks with Tim Allen and Jamie Lee Curtis. I didn't see the film, but could easily see how this would be adapted to a funny holiday movie. The story is predictable, but cleverly written.

I'll be releasing it this month as part of a Christmas in July challenge.
