This lovely little book has dressed itself in nakedness and a few well placed balloons! ;)
And so it's ready to join the Party for the 2016 Birthday Rabck Group! :D
Here's to a new dance for a new year! So slip on your party shoes and dust off your hat... It's your day. It's your time. Give them enough to talk about for a good hundred years! >;)

Received this wishlist book for my birthday. I'm so excited to read it! Hoping to find some time soon to read it! Thank you so much!
I tried really hard to get into this book, but I just couldn't get into his writing style. Will be moving it along soon. Thanks again for the birthday present HI77!

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Sent out in the 2018 thegoaliegirl's travel narrative bookbox to start the box off!
I'm claiming this from the Travel Narrative bookbox. Just in time for Canada Day!
Later: I enjoyed this look across Canada, though I found myself more drawn to the sections on Quebec and Ontario, as I've actually been there and have at least some basis for comparison {wry grin}. Though now I want to visit more of the territories - Newfoundland and the Maritimes are potentially reachable via (long) road-or-ferry trip...
Anyway, I found a nice mix of historical information and local oddities, with the author's personal touches. I did wonder how much things have changed since the book came out in the late '80s, but I found plenty of familiar notes, not least the author's praise of Aux Vieux Canadiens, the vintage-1677 house in old Quebec City - I'd had a marvelous meal there last year when visiting the city with a friend.
While the writing wasn't always as scintillating as I'd have liked, I did appreciate this opportunity to visit so much of Canada vicariously!
