from the cover:

"In this latest puzzle, Inspector Erlendur learsn of the baffling story of Matthildur, a local woman who went missing years earlier on the night of a violent storm. Erlendur has spent his whole life searching for his brother Beggi, who was lost in a snowstorm when they were both children. As he starts to ask questions about the fateful evening when Matthildur disappeared, Erlendur also begins to suspect what may have befallen his long-lost brother.

Can Erlendur possibly solve the disappearance of Matthildur and Beggi after all these decades? Or are the forces that want him to stop investigating stronger than he is?"

Is Erlendur dead? Is he alive, hypothermic and delusional? I don't know, and I'm not happy about it. Especially since I don't think I'm going to find out any time soon. It's very unfair.

Hello. Just discovered Strange Shores. First encounter with Bookcrossing. Between little Free Library, thrift stores, garage sales, and other sources, I usually acquire 3 to five books a month. Thrilled to know of this new source. I have several books to place into the "world library." Reviews from Goodreads were very high. Strange Shores goes on my to be read soon list. Found the book at the New Orleans Mid-City Post-office newspaper vending machines. I knew immediately that it was a "free" book, but my first awareness of Bookcrossing.
