Eva is married to Brian and is mother of Brianne and Brian Junior. She also has to put up with a mother, Ruby, and a mother-in-law. She is a stay-at-home mom, but the day that her children go to university far from home, she feels it´s time for her to take a long rest from it all. That rest is quite original, as she decides that she is not going to leave her bed for at least a year. It´s quite a spontaneous resolution, caused not only by the empty-nest syndrome, but also by the sudden knowledge that her husband has been seeing a colleague called Titania for eight years, making her his lover. Not only this, but he had promised her to divorce Eva and marry her.

Maybe Brian wanted to finally do it, or maybe not, but Eva is angry nevertheless. Her decision not to move from her bed will change everything in her life and that of those who surround her: her children, her husband, Titania, her neighbours. She will also meet new people, those who wouldn´t have met otherwise.

It is humourous, but at the same time it´s sad. She does a wacko thing, but she doesn´t look mad. She is weird and eccentric, but is the sanest of all those surrounding her. Her husband is a twat, but he had his good moments, especially when he reacted to Eva´s Christmas recipe. It made me laugh several times, Eva´s house looked like the Marx Bros' cabin... and I giggled at it.
