A paperback wishlist purchase from Tyrvään kirjakauppa from summer 2015.

Synopsis:

I found many similarities between this book and Hislop's previous novel, The Thread. This too was a strong family saga. Perhaps some darker themes about betrayal, fighting for your destiny through selfishness and hatred in the turmoil of crisis. Political insight to the history of Cyprus. Perhaps a bit too heartbreaking for my current mood but overall again a very beautifully written story.

I gave this book to erpax in Helsinki while meeting and having brunch together. Hope you like this and sorry it took me so long :)!

Elämänlanka tuli mieleen täälläkin tätä lukiessa, mutta ei se haitannut, sillä Hislopin kerronta vei mennessään taas. Ikuisuus sitten kävin Pohjois-Kyproksella, Famagustassakin, mutta enpä tiedä, antoiko se mitään lisää varsinaisesti tälle lukukokemukselle.
Kiitos taas niin kirjasta kuin seurastakin, Bookgeo! En nyt osaa kummemmin journaloida, mutta ehkäpä ymmärrät... :)

Thank you, kiitos erpax kun tarjosit minulle tätä kirjaa. Olen lukenut muutamia Victoria Hislopin kirjoja ja pitänyt niistä. En usko että tämä on poikkeus säännöstä. Kesälomakin on juuri alkamassa, tämä on täydellinen kirja niihin tunnelmiin. Oli kiva myös tavata, vaikkakin pikaisesti.

One more beautiful book from Victoria Hislop. I have visited Cypros a few times, but had little knowledge about its past. Heartbreaking story, but still quite a nice holiday read.
