Purchased USED for $0.50 from the Friends of the Library book sale in Lawton, Oklahoma.

This is the 1,000th book I've registered. How exciting that one my great friend and fellow bookcrosser (allysther) recommended should be a big milestone!

I have enjoyed reading Jodi Picoult and Lisa Genova novels for the same reason I appreciated this one -- the chance to really get in the head of a person who thinks and sees the world much differently than I do. In this case, the protagonist is autistic. He's socially awkward, superstitious about strange things, fastidious and organized, highly observant, a math whiz -- many characteristics that I'm not. It all figures into this story as he investigates the murder of a neighborhood dog. The result is a fascinating and unforgettable book that makes me intrigued to see the stage play.
