Stylish, convincing, wise, funny, and just in time: the ultimate non-diet book, which could radically change the way you think and live – now with more recipes.French women don’t get fat, even though they enjoy bread and pastry, wine, and regular three-course meals. Unlocking the simple secrets of this “French paradox” – how they enjoy food while staying slim and healthy – Mireille Guiliano gives us a charming, inspiring take on health and eating for our times. For anyone who has slipped out of her Zone, missed the flight to South Beach, or accidentally let a carb pass her lips, here is a positive way to stay trim, a culture’s most precious secrets recast for the twenty-first century. A life of wine, bread – even chocolate – without girth or guilt? Pourquoi pas?

Picket it up from the book buffett - I like the title ;-)
Just in case for the Convention in Bordeaux?

Update:
This book accompany a little gift as a surprise for a Bookcrosser whom I never met before. But we got a connection through the Brunch & supper Club and a book about a dog called Enzo. ;-)
I choose this book as a "buisness card" because of your interest for cooking (not of the title !) and pleasure for good food. Feel free to release the book !

I read the Japanese Women Don't Get Old or Fat before, and can't help comparing the two. (Same story - happy young girls go to America, their bodies just balloon up till they revert back to their native diet. I guess there could be a whole series on this. Wonder why there is no Chinese version of this? Like, Chinese Women Don't Get Old or Fat or Stupid? )

The Japanese one is more organized, but I like the French recipe better because the ingredients are more available. The tidbit info about French food is interesting and I'd love more of that.

The idea is sound and her general suggestion for a healthier lifestyle is worth following. However, from my mere one week in Bordeaux, I am not sure about "French women eat a lot of vegetables". At least I don't feel I eat enough greens. On the other hand regarding the comment "French women don't eat standing up", now we are in Lisbon, my husband made the comment that Portuguese like to consume their coffee, along with some snacks, standing up at the cafe (the Cubans back in Miami do too), while in France people always sit down. But he also commented that the bakery in Lisbon always have seats for people to eat the bread there, while some French bakeries are like the ones in Hong Kong. You can buy your bread there but they sell no coffee and have no space for you to sit down and eat.

Really interesting all the cultural differences.
