Coraline
2 journalers for this copy...
Purchased this past weekend because I wanted to stock up on a few lighter reads.
I keep trying to enjoy Gaiman's work and I keep being unsuccessful. I just can't seem to get emotionally invested in the characters or involved in the narratives. In his stories, things just seem to happen, but as a reader I don't feel the weight of why any of the events matter. This might be my last attempt, although I do have at least one more Gaiman on my TBR shelf, so we'll see.
Reserving for the General Literature VBB.
Description from Amazon:
"When Coraline steps through a door to find another house strangely similar to her own (only better), things seem marvelous.
But there's another mother there, and another father, and they want her to stay and be their little girl. They want to change her and never let her go.
Coraline will have to fight with all her wit and courage if she is to save herself and return to her ordinary life."

The VBB is no longer running, so I am making this one available.
