What if your best friend's child disappears? And it's all your fault. This is exactly what happens to Lisa Kallisto - overwhelmed working mother of three - one freezing December in the Lake District. She takes her eye off the ball for just a moment and her whole world descend into nightmare. Her best friend's thirteen-year-old daughter Lucinda has gone missing and now, devastated by this and publicly blamed, Lisa sets out to right the wrong. But as she begins peeling away the layers surrounding Lucinda's disappearance, Lisa learns that the quiet town she lives in isn't what she thought it was, and her friends might not be who they appear to be, either.

This looks an interesting mystery, set in a place I've been too. Thanks very much my bookcrossing friend.

A quick holiday read. I pleased it was fast because the main character drove me batty - as part of a significant piece in a police investigation she seemed to hoon about and think nothing of discussing details with others in the village and/or potential suspects.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

Skyring is handing this to Lady-Indigo as part of the Australian/New Zealand Wishlist game. I hope you enjoy this book. And thank you skyring for being a courier.

If you aren't familiar with Bookcrossing, take a few minutes to check out this very cool site. Bookcrossers LOVE books, and more than anything, they love to read books and then set them free for other people to find and enjoy. I would love it if you would leave a journal entry -- you can say where you found the book or how you liked it when you read it.

I seem to be spending a fair portion of this year being Lady Indigo's courier. Then again, it's just a matter of finding room in my bag on trips I was gunna take anyway. I don't have to motor down from halfway across the next State to make the handover!

Transfer arranged for later today at the National Library of Australia. I'll be the one holding a book and a package from Coco7.

thankyou so much kiwiinengland for this (recent) wishlist title and for skyring for his exceptional couriering duties - i am home again after my latest (littler) trip away

i've not watched the tv series (deep water) yet - i prefer to read the book first and i also have the other book the series is based on, so we shall see how the two are married together in the series

thanks again to both of you

happy reading
;)
