An interesting and well-written selection of stories about mundane life and families. Get to see the recurring character Ulli at various point throughout her life. More about emotion and subtlety, so I wasn't sure of the point most of the time.

Released 8 yrs ago (2/23/2016 UTC) at Brigantes Bar & Brasserie OBCZ / Meetup Venue in York, North Yorkshire United Kingdom
WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Bringing to the short story meetup as a newly registered title. Maybe more of the group will enjoy it too!
I am a simple creature. When I open a book, I want to be informed and/or entertained or to lose myself entirely in the story. Instead, I found myself reading as I had to in school; noticing every metaphor, every skillful use of imagery and every perfectly crafted phrase.
Winner of the Orange prize, Helen Dunmore writes beautifully, and for me, this meant I had to read several of the stories twice.
The Bridge Painter and Spring Wedding are gripping.
