I got this fair-condition softcover at a local Savers thrift shop. It's from the Akashic "noir" series, themed on different cities, with this one set in different locales on Long Island. (There's even a graphic-novel entry, a six-page strip called "Boob Noir" by Jules Feiffer.) Among my favorites: "Summer Love" by JZ Holden, atmospheric and bleak; "Contents of the House" by Jane Ciabattari, which takes an angry-ex situation plus the publication of a supposedly-private sex-tape and turns it into a satisfying revenge fantasy; and "Snow Job" by Tim Tomlinson, with a holiday theme and a rough-and-tumble twist.

I plan to leave this book on top of a gas pump at the northbound rest area on I93 in Hooksett at around 11:30 or so; hope the finder enjoys it!
