I've had this hardcover on my keeper shelves for some years now, and I think it's time it went traveling.

There are lots of spooky stories here, but the one that scared me the most was "The Boogeyman," featuring a nightmarish Thing that whispers nastily from a partly-open closet door. For YEARS after reading this I could not sleep if the closet door wasn't tightly shut - and even now I prefer to keep it that way {wry grin}.

I was amused to discover that nearly all of the stories in this book have served as the basis for movies - most of them not very good, alas, but still, this book must hold the record for number of different films spawned from a single cover. "Children of the Corn," "Sometimes They Come Back," "Lawnmower Man," "Trucks," "The Mangler" - and more. It boggles the mind...

I plan to leave this book on a bench or window ledge at the rest stop at around 2; hope the finder enjoys it!
