I found this handsome hardcover at a local dollar store, and had to give it a try. The jacket blurb refers to Pippi Longstocking, which may have been a bit misleading - while the book does deal with eccentric young people its tone doesn't seem to match what I recall of the whimsy of that story. And I found that I wasn't being drawn in to the story even without Pippi in mind... I think this is a case of "seduced by the cover art", so I'll release the book unread. (If a future finder writes a rave review, I may reconsider and look for another copy!)

I plan to leave this book on a table or window ledge near Mangia, a lovely restaurant at 33 Elm St., at around 5. Hope the finder enjoys it!
