Ballad of a Shinigami Vol 2

A book trade, a set of dreams, as it were.
This was one of those infamous 'second copies' of mine that I wind up with because I'm an airhead. lol
It's not been read yet, so I don't currently have an opinion.
Later: This light novel includes three different stories, each featuring shinigami Momo as she goes about her soul-reaping business - with a strong sideline in attempting to nudge the people she meets into a better appreciation of the time they do have, whether it's long or short.
As with many light novels, I found the text a bit wooden - whether that's a translation artifact or the original writing was that way I can't tell. The few illustrations are charming, and the stories take some unexpected swerves, with some characters turning out to be ghosts already, and with others finding themselves living long and happy lives after learning to deal with loss. There are adult issues, including unwanted pregnancies and attempted suicide, but overall the tone is mild and bittersweet. (The book ends with a short chapter that introduces a rival/dark-counterpart to Momo, with a cat-familiar who used to be friends with Momo's cat-familiar; it looks as if that will introduce more conflict to the series.)
