Synopsis
'At the close of World War I, Amanda retreats from her nursing job to her family's farm on a lake in rural Wisconsin. She is hoping life with her sister, Mattie, and her three-year-old niece, Ruth, will become a refuge. Very soon Amanda comes to realize that she has carried her troubles with her' (Amazon)
Drowning Ruth is a suspenseful and complex psychological thriller that explores the consequences of suppressing a tragic event from the past. A good read.

Passed to fellow bookcrosser nyassa when we met up for lunch yesterday! (It was very nice to finally meet a fellow bookcrosser).
I've just realised I hadn't made a journal entry for this. It looks like one I will really enjoy so I'm moving it well up my TBR pile.
Thanks Lady Mondegreen

Brought this book over to France and have realised I didn't ever journal it. I've actusally re-read it now which is not something I often do!
I very much enjoyed it, a very dark and compelling story which keeps you turning the pages right to the end.

This is not a book I particularly enjoyed. The plot is somewhat predictable and I didn't find the characters either likeable or interesting. With the exception of Ruth, maybe. It was an easy read, one I would recommend to certain people but not to everyone at large.
This is travelling to the Netherlands now, where the winner of the international sweepstake March 2011 will receive it. Hope she likes it!
