This is a story of a not-so-perfect mother and father and what happens to their lives when a moment of careless inattention results in one of their children being kidnapped in a hotel lobby, and what happens to the family and remaining children as a result.

It has an unexpected and poignant twist and Mitchard delves deeply into the character flaws, hurts and triumphs of her fictional family.

I enjoyed it.
