A great fan of Elizabeth Jolley I really like her left of centre and slightly eccentric style this particular book is a good introduction to this author
Sending to Meg72 as an extra read of Women in Fiction
An unexpected surprise, thank you :-)
Although this book has some funny episodes, it makes you think about nursing homes and how it can be hard to live in an institution which does not treat you like a unique individual - you’re just another card in the pack. Not a nice scenario, but an interesting read.
